Luso Canadian Charitable Society extends its heartfelt gratitude to Kenneth Choi of Summit Garden for hosting the “A Life of Purpose” Dinner event, celebrating the Legendary Hazel McCallion’s life and her ongoing support of those with special needs served by Luso, raising more than $50,000 for Luso’s Residential Campaign. The evening featured numerous highlights; a delicious 8-course gourmet Chinese dinner, Portuguese Wines supplied by 351 Imports, magical music by violinist Viera Zmiyiwsky, and outstanding swing sounds of the Dan Bodanis Big Band.

Thanks to Co-Host Amy Tjen and the generous sponsorship of Mattamy Homes Canada, all attending received a limited-edition Hazel McCallion 100th Celebration Race Car Bobblehead, in celebration of her life. In addition to our amazing MC Dan Bodanis, guests were entertained with a live auction conducted by Jake Dheer featuring unique items such as – Fall Colours in Algonquin Park & Photo Workshop donated by generous sponsor Naguib Kerba.

The Honourable Senator Victor Oh presented Kenneth Choi with a Certificate of Appreciation at special presentation during the evening.

Sebastien’s story, as told by his father Rick, shared real life experiences of a family with a special needs child and touched the heart of all guests.

Luso was honoured to be the charitable recipient of this 26th Annual Fundraiser hosted by Summit Garden Chinese Cuisine with the assistance of the incredible organizing committee.

And a big thank you to everyone who attended and supported Luso and its individuals with special needs. Your generosity and support makes a significant difference in their lives.
