Life Skills

Life Skills such as cooking, shopping, personal hygiene, self-care and safety, means replicating daily activities to support personal independence and community interaction.

Participants enjoy cooking, baking and helping prepare home-cooked meals to enjoy. Our focus on teaching the principles of basic food preparation, healthy foods, hygiene and various aspects of safety, all make Life Skills one of the most important and rewarding parts of our programming.

Literacy and numeracy are also important components of this program’s focus. Activities use both group based and one-on-one learning to achieve results tailored to each individual’s specific needs. Our libraries, various guests and volunteers are excellent resources for ongoing learning.
