Wellbeing

Wellbeing at Luso includes activities to promote physical, mental and emotional health.

Daily physical activity is important to persons living with disabilities in order to keep muscles and bones strong. Our exercise activity includes stretching, breathing and other light movements. Many people become less active in their lives as time goes on and our programs help maintain and improve agility and activity levels. In addition, our group fitness programs lift morale, raise participants’ energy levels and contribute fun to everyone’s day.

After lunch we settle down and engage in a few minutes of meditation breathing, listening to calming and music to unwind and experience a moment of tranquility after the busy lunch transition. This quiet time is therapeutic and provides participants with personal down-time to engage in preferred activities. Relaxation time also provides a great opportunity to come together as a group and review the Newsletters calendar, daily weather and discuss current events before transitioning to the afternoon activities.
